We all have a story... a personal story and a history of types. I grew up in Canada on the west coast in a lovely log cabin overlooking the ocean. I would spend my summers fishing on our family fish boats catching salmon and communing with nature. I was very athletic as a child and teen. When I graduated from high school I entered university full of energy and wonder, only to be disillusioned by the sense of not learning anything important in so far as what I wished to become or experience in this life. At the age of eighteen, a chance encounter with a unique zen master sent my mind spiralling apart and I dropped into a profound experience of silent awareness and bliss. Shortly after that I set about to arrange my affairs so that I could leave my home and travel, seemingly in search of some unknown destination or experience. I spent the following years traveling and living in mystical communes of the Himalaya of India, Nepal, Pakistan and traveled all over Asia and to every other continent, thirsting for experience and adventure. There were very difficult times and very wondrous times... to this search that emerged as a life theme for many years to come. I discovered or experienced many mystical revelations within and had many profound cosmic spiritual experiences that began to satisfy my souls longing for freedom and self knowledge. I felt very supported and guided by the teachers and spiritual communities that I encountered along the way, that often would emerge just at the right moment, seemingly out of thin air... to support this process. Eventually I returned to my home country of Canada and entered into final samadhi or nirvana on Jan 11 2009. I never imagined that freedom, spiritual freedom was possible. At the beginning of my travels and inquiry, I did not even know that I was a prisoner of my own mind. And slowly slowly over the years that followed, I began to attain and open into profound experiences of love, gratitude, peace, bliss, samadhi..... and finally clarity emerged. I do not even know how it is possible to be free. But over the years it occurred. A lot of it was gradual, a slow subtle maturing... but there were also massive awakenings that would culminate and deliver extreme experiences of divine grace and freedom. When the final awakening happened... it was just the end of everything. Just the end of everything. I Am That. And so are you. Namaste. Feel free to reach out and connect if you have any questions or wish to share. And of course, if you are interested in my story, also feel free to read the autobiography of my travels... I guess it has to be said as well, that there is no “final awakening”… there is just this NOW… opening and revealing itself through us and everything, in every way. ॐ |
